Certification of components and final equipment

If the equipment components are certified, is certification of the final equipment required?
Usually CE + CE ≠ CE, i.e. certified components do not guarantee that the final product will also meet essential safety requirements.
  • For example, combining several power supplies for certified devices into a single system does not guarantee that they will meet electromagnetic compatibility or safety requirements as a whole. Component manufacturers cannot predict all cases of how these products will interact when connected in common systems. For these reasons, it is very important to check the final product against the relevant standards.
