The meaning of the LST EN 60529 standard, why is it needed:
This standard applies to all electrical devices with a rated voltage of no more than 72.5 kV and for which protection against water or solid foreign objects entering the product is relevant.
LST EN 60529 determines:
- definitions of degrees of protection;
- definitions of degrees of protection of electrical equipment enclosures related to:
- protection of people from access to dangerous parts inside the housing;
- protection of the component parts of the device inside the case from the ingress of hard foreign objects;
- protection of the devices inside the housing from harmful effects due to water ingress.
- ensuring the fulfillment of requirements;
- tests to be carried out to verify that the enclosure meets the requirements of this standard.
LST EN 60529 standard applies to:
- For all electrical devices and their housings, the rated voltage of which does not exceed 72.5 kV and whose operation is intended in water, in wet rooms;
- For all electrical devices and their housings with a rated voltage of no more than 72.5 kV and intended for operation in rooms full of fine dust particles.
LST EN 60529 standard does not apply:
- For devices and their housings, the operation of which does not involve water, moisture or dust.
"Sertika" testing laboratory is accredited to perform tests according to the LST EN 60529 standard.
- Protection against accessible dangerous parts (IP1X-IP6X);
- Enclosure resistance to the ingress of hard foreign objects (IP1X - IP6X);
- Enclosure water resistance (IPX1-IPX7).

How long are the tests?
- In the standard procedure, the submission of the IP code protocol within 10 working days from the delivery of the device to the laboratory.
- In an accelerated procedure, the IP code protocol is submitted within 3 working days from the delivery of the device to the laboratory.
